Using TimeToast to Create Literary Timelines

  Creating a Collaborative Timeline of Major British Writers (18th–20th Century) This activity demonstrated that digital tools like TimeToast can effectively combine content learning, collaborative work, and metacognitive development. The visual and interactive nature of timelines makes literary history more accessible and engaging for students. I would definitely implement this activity again with minor adjustments to maximize reflection and peer discussion. 1. In the images, some people seem to be reading  books , possibly for pleasure, while others look like they are reading textbooks or academic materials , maybe in a classroom or study environment. If someone is sitting in a library or classroom, they probably did not completely choose the book themselves — it might have been assigned by a teacher. On the other hand, a person reading at home  is more likely reading something they chose for personal interest. 2. How might they be feeling? People read in a relaxed environment might feel calm, entertained, or emotionally engaged with the story. Reading for pleasure often creates a sense of escape. Those reading textbooks or studying might feel focused, concentrated, or even slightly stressed , especially if they are preparing for an exam.
